What is the Competitive Division?
The Competitive Division emphasizes competitive play, skill development and good sportsmanship. The season is longer than House League and usually runs from May 1 to the Labour Day weekend in September. Depending on the age group and division, considerable travel may be involved.

In order to cover the additional costs of diamonds and umpires an additional fee is charged. Uniforms are not included in these fees. Individual teams may also levy additional charges to cover tournaments, training and/or equipment.

Tryouts
Teams are chosen in September for the following season. This allows players to be seen near the top of their baseball form, coaches to evaluate players in natural playing conditions, and managers to reduce organizational demands in the Spring. Every Competitive Division player must be registered with WMBA in their respective House League age group.

League
Each Waterloo team plays against other centres participating in the Inter-County Baseball Association (ICBA). This includes Kitchener, Cambridge, Guelph, Stratford, Woodstock, and Brantford. Not every centre sponsors a team in every age group, and some age groups include teams from outside the ICBA.

Want To Coach?
Coaches are chosen in August and September for the following season. This allows a coach to select players in September, choose a coaching staff, and train over the winter. Coaching applications for the 2012 Competitive Division teams are available now. Coaching applications should be e-mailed or dropped off to the WMBA Secretary.
